· All courses are conducted with a maximum ratio of 1:4, (instructor:students) thereby ensuring more individual attention for each trainee, with the emphasis on a hands-on approach to all aspects of the various syllabi in a relaxed and informal way.

  - EQUIPMENT/GEAR SUPPLIED/NEEDED

• All participants are supplied with Life Jackets/Safety Harnesses and all ISA specified Safety Equipment is carried aboard including Flares, Fire Extinguishers, EPIRB, VHF, GPS, Log and Depth Sounder, Liferaft and Manoverboard equipment. Also, we can supply Oilskins (small fee), Boots, Sleeping bags as well as Personal Accident Insurance (compulsory - unless you have your own policy). We supply diesel, cooking gas etc., but expect crew to contribute towards Food, Marina/Harbour fees. Click here > - some gear suggestions. Our boats are fully insured for all Third party risks.

- ON BOARD:

• All Sailing Courses are conducted on "Saltee Dog" our Sadler 32', with comfortable accommodation for up to 6 adults. All trainees are expected to fully participate in the running of the boat, i.e. sailing, mooring, deckwork, navigating, cooking & cleaning. Living in a confined space with a number of others demands tolerance and the ability to muck in..

• Toesun joined the team in Oct 2003, at about 1 year old. He is making steady progress as a sea dog, has a very gentle nature and is lovable.
•  If you wish to do a sailing course but have a problem with a dog on board, please advise us well in advance, so we can have him homed.
