SOUTH EAST CRUISING SCHOOL 

 - INTRODUCTION TO SAILING:  

• If you would like to sample life afloat with minimum tuition, then this 2 day or weekend course might appeal. You might sail 40 - 60 miles, be involved in hoisting and handling sails, steering the boat, doing manouvres, do some basic navigation and enjoy the scenery from the ocean wave.
• Sailing up or down the coast from Wicklow (we might spot the pod of Risso's Dolphins) we give you the chance to enjoy the scenery as we go while getting a hands on feel for steering the boat, handling sails and perhaps if you feel comfortable going below deck - doing some basic navigation. When we arrive at our destination, you will be involved in preparing the boat to berth, before tidying it up for the evening. You could help with the food preparation or perhaps we might eat ashore before rounding off the evening with a pleasant nightcap.
• Early next morning, breakfast gets the day going followed by getting the boat ready for departure. Our return trip might follow the same route, but no two journeys are ever the same at sea. Hopefully you will be finding your sea-legs by now and willing to try a few more tasks on board as you go. Back to base, the boat has to be tidied, sails stowed and cleaning done before you depart.
