Some Gear Suggestions that you should consider when joining us.

 Irish UK waters

(see below for Sunshine Trips)

* Full set of Oilskins (Coastal +) - Golfing or Regular hiking wear not suitable

* Sailing Boots (no farmers rubber wellies, please)

* Sleeping Bag (+ water-proof cover)

Non-slip Deck shoes (no black rubber or leather soles/high heels!)

Woollen Hat(s) x 2

Gloves-1 or 2 pairs

Thick wool socks x 1 pair + reg. socks

2 changes of clothes (several layers better than heavy wool etc.)

Casual wear for shore leave!

Swimming gear

Sun cream/skin cream

Pocket Knife

Small Torch

Seasickness Tablets/Remedy (check with your Doctor)

Ear Plugs - if bothered by rattling halyards/ fellow crew snoring at night

Camera / Walkman (at your own risk)

Check if you might need Sterling cash

Some Gear Suggestions that you should consider when joining us.

 

Set of Oilskins (lightweight) - don’t assume perfect conditions

Sheet/Sleeping Bag liner (or very lightweight sleeping bag)

Non-slip Deck shoes (no black rubber or leather soles/high heels!)

2 changes of clothes - 1 x long sleeves/legs for sun protection

Warm Sweater/Jumper and hat (strong winds can be chilly)

Sunglasses (with neck strap?)

Sunhat/Baseball Hat (and string to attach it)

Casual wear for shore leave!

Swimming gear + towel

Sun cream/skin cream- strong factor recommended

Pocket Knife (careful with Customs/Airport Security!!)

Small Torch (for those awkward moments!)

Seasickness Tablets/Remedy (check with your Doctor)

Plasters/Burn cream etc. (might not be near pharmacy)

Ear plugs (anti snore device)

Camera/Walkman (at your own risk)

Passport (check now it is in date)

Euros (budget for kitty/meals/social spending min. c.€30/35 p.d.)

**Holiday Insurance (see below)

It is essential that you just bring one carrier bag (soft, no rigid frames) as space is limited for stowage (possibly 6 or more persons on board).

 It is a good idea to also bring a personal LOGBOOK (ISA/RYA) to record your progress/certificates achieved.

For the record, we have no way of knowing in advance what the weather will be doing or other problems, so we cannot guarantee that the boat will be back at the Marina base on the appointed day/time. If it is not possible to keep to our schedule, each person will be responsible for his/her own return travel expenses/ arrangements.

N.B. check your Holiday Insurance inclusions/exclusions - ensure Sailing Risks are covered.
